Surgical treatment of complex fractures

Regain your strength and confidence: Expert treatment for complex fractures

Trauma is not a sentence, but a complex task that must be solved perfectly. I specialize in restoration of bone integrity in multifragmentary, intra-articular and chronic fractures. Using state-of-the-art titanium fixation systems and digital precision modeling, I restore mobility to patients even after the most severe injuries.

Problem: When a fracture requires surgical jewelry work

An ordinary cast is not able to ensure the correct fusion of the bone, if the fracture is of a complex nature.

  • Multifragmentary fractures: When the bone is fragmented into small parts, it is important to put them together like a puzzle, restoring the anatomical axis.
  • Intra-articular fractures: Any inaccuracy of 1 millimeter will lead to rapid destruction of the joint (arthrosis) and constant pain.
  • Improperly fused fractures: Correction of deformities and treatment of “false joints” (when the bone does not grow for months).
  • Fractures with displacement: The risk of vascular and nerve damage requires immediate and accurate stabilization.

Technologies: Metaloosteosynthesis is the gold standard of restoration

I work according to the principles of stable and functional osteosynthesis, which allows the bone to grow in ideal conditions.

  • LCP titanium systems (with angular stability): Plates that withstand enormous loads and do not cause allergic reactions.
  • Intramedullary osteosynthesis (rods): Insertion of the fixator into the bone through micropunctures, which allows the patient to stand on his feet the very next day.
About the doctor: My philosophy of anatomical accuracy

There are no trifles in traumatology. My job as a surgeon is not just to fix the bone with metal, but to restore the biomechanics of your body as if the injury never happened. I use minimally invasive techniques to preserve the blood supply to the bone fragments. This is the key to fast healing and your quick return to normal life

Preparation: Fast and safe waiting

In the case of injuries, time works against the patient, so my preparation is as prompt as possible:

  • Computed tomography (CT) with 3D reconstruction: A mandatory stage for understanding the architecture of a complex fracture.
  • Doppler imaging of vessels: We must be sure that the blood flow in the area of the injury is not disturbed.
  • Laboratory check: Urgent analyzes to rule out risks during anesthesia
Operation: Technological restoration of integrity

Each operation is carried out according to a clear algorithm under my personal control:

  • Anatomical reposition: Alignment of bone fragments until the surfaces completely coincide.
  • Stable fixation: Placement of plates or rods that take the load, freeing the bone for peaceful fusion.
  • Electro-optical control: Right during the operation, I use x-ray control to make sure that each screw is in perfect position.
Rehabilitation: My support from the first step to complete freedom

I do not leave the patient after the last stitch. Rehabilitation is a journey we walk together.

  • My principle of early mobilization: I adjust the fixation so that you can start moving your joints as soon as 24-48 hours after surgery. This prevents contractures (stiffening) of the joints.
  • Individual load schedule: I personally write when you can start stepping on your feet and with what weight. We analyze each X-ray control together, monitoring the formation of calluses.
  • My control until full recovery: I accompany you until you return to your work or sports. You always have contact with me to solve any issues during the recovery process.

FAQ: Briefly about the main thing
  • Do I need to remove the plates after fusion? Titanium can remain in the body for life. We make a decision on removal individually after 1–1.5 years.
  • When will I be able to set foot? Thanks to modern retainers, light weight bearing is often allowed as early as the second week.
  • Will the fracture site hurt after surgery? Pain from an unstable fracture disappears immediately after fixation. We stop postoperative discomfort with modern drugs.
  • How long does sick leave last? It depends on the location of the injury, usually from 1 to 3 months until full recovery.
