A patient came to us with a diagnosis pseudarthrosis of the lower third (n/3) of the right femur. This is a serious complication after a previous injury or failed previous treatment, in which connective tissue forms between the bone fragments instead of a solid callus.
Symptoms with which the patient came:
- Constant pain when trying to step on the leg.
- Deformation and pathological mobility in the hip area.
- Significant muscle atrophy due to prolonged lack of exercise
Surgical solution: Revision osteosynthesis
Treatment of pseudarthrosis always requires a “reset” of the fusion process. Our team performed a complex intervention:
Treatment of the pseudarthrosis zone: Removal of scar tissue to restore blood supply to the bone.
Stable osteosynthesis: Fixation of fragments using a modern metal structure (plate or rod), which ensures maximum immobility of the fragments.
Bone plastic (if needed): Creation of conditions for the formation of new bone tissue.

The operation was successful, the stability of fixation allowed us to start activating the patient as early as possible:
