Correction of valgus deformity of the knee joint
Description of the problem: 10 years of living with pain and deformity
A patient came to us with a pronounced valgus deformity of the knee joint (the so-called “X-shaped” curvature of the legs), with which she struggled more than 10 years. During this long time, the disease progressed: the cartilage was gradually destroyed, the axis of the leg shifted, which caused constant pain even with minimal loads. Limited mobility significantly reduced the quality of life, depriving a woman of the opportunity to move freely and lead an active life.
Solution and result: A new joint and restoration of the anatomical axis
To solve the problem, a total cement endoprosthesis of the knee joint was performed. This complex high-tech intervention made it possible not only to replace the affected joint with a modern prosthesis, but also to completely restore the correct anatomical axis of the leg. The operation was successful, and already in the first days the patient noted a significant decrease in pain. Ahead is the stage of rehabilitation, but it is already clear: we have returned a person’s freedom of movement and the opportunity to live without permanent restrictions
