Restoring the function of the hand after a complex fracture: endoprosthesis of the shoulder joint
Description of the problem:
This clinical case demonstrates the possibilities of modern orthopedics in the treatment of severe intra-articular injuries. The patient was diagnosed with a multifragmentary fracture of the proximal part of the humerus, which made standard fusion impossible and threatened complete loss of mobility of the limb.
Completed treatment:
Due to the nature of the injury, a decision was made to perform endoprosthesis of the shoulder joint. During the operation, the destroyed parts of the bone were replaced with a modern technological prosthesis, which made it possible to restore the anatomical integrity of the joint.
Result:
The video shows the rehabilitation process. Thanks to the professionally performed prosthetics and the patient’s persistence, we managed to return the full range of motion, which is critically important for the quality of life in old age
